DESIGN challenge

The newly renovated Centers for Dialysis Care (CDC) Euclid Facility is designed to streamline caregiver workflow, improve the patient experience from entry through treatment and discharge, and distinguish CDC from its competitors to attract new patients.

SOLUTION

Patient views during treatment were carefully considered due to extended treatment times.  By turning the caregiver workstations perpendicular to the patient recliners, a rhythm of wood panels acting as end caps at each workstation creates a soothing, warm repetition and becomes the focal point for dialyzing patients. The design concept was to create an environment that felt clean, crisp and refreshing.  The perceived cleanliness of the facility through the use of light colors and easily maintained materials helps CDC to support their message of quality care.
